I Dream Africa

Ovamboland

If you’ve ever been one of those to portray Africa as a rural country, think again. If you want to experience first- hand how a so called “rural” place gets things done then this is the place for you. From the Kalahari Desert to the Angolan border, Ovamboland is flat quite green especially in the rainy season with quite a few palms for shading, mostly sand and hardly any rocks, but a very lively place to be. Discover how baskets and hats are woven from palm leaves, or how hand - made paper is made and framed and written on, or how earthen jugs and bowls are baked in pits filled with red hot coals. And then of course there are the friendly locals who are always willing to give a helping hand, and some even speak Portuguese prior to their native tongue.
