Homeb is situated in the Namib Naukluft Park with lots of camel thorn trees directly on the Kuiseb River (often without water).

Travel from Windhoek to Homeb via Topnaar route, the trail starts at the Homeb campsite on the banks of the Kuiseb River in the Namib Naukluft Park. From Homeb the trail leads through the “Homeb plains” – a colorful landscape of red sand dunes separated by grassy plains. It ends up in a “slide” back into the dry Kuiseb River. The Kuiseb canyon offers unique scenery in this area with the southern bank formed by massive red sand dunes, the northern bank – pitch black rock formations and in the riverbed massive trees and the dry sand bed creates a kaleidoscope in green and white. The night is spend at Lauberville – a former police training camp – currently being renovated by the Topnaar Community.

Obtain a permit for Sandwich Harbour and enter the ‘Roller Coaster Dunes’, a series of massive ‘roaring’ slip faces, not only giving the participants a new thrilling experience but also offering breathtaking views of and a panorama of “Sandscapes” exiting onto the beach south of Walvis Bay. The trail ends at Walvis Bay after a final 50km stretch of beach driving.

Not for the faint hearted or unexperienced traveller!!
