Covering 300 miles along the coastline, we will tailor an itinerary to suit your needs. Transport is by means of 4x4’s as this is desert country.

Angling
The fishing coastline starts from Sandwich Bay, south of Walvis Bay, and ends at the Skeleton Coast Park, Terrace Bay. It is a secluded area and only caters for 40 fishermen at a time, but offers prime fishing with big cob, steenbras and plenty of sharks.

Torra Bay, in the Skeleton Coast Park, is only open to the public two months in the year, in December and January. Species targeted are copper shark, average weight 100lbs, hound shark average 20lbs, spotted gully shark average 40lbs, cow sharks from 50lbs up to 150lbs.

The bronze whaler / copper shark (Bronzie) is the strongest and most powerful fish with massive stamina and endurance, and can weight up to 400lbs. Bronzies are tough fighters and are capable of giving even the most experienced angler a fight he will never forget. All sharks are released back to ensure the survival of the species. August to May is the best months for Bronzies. Edible species include kob, steenbras, galjoen and blacktail. Of these, kob and steenbras are the biggest, weighing 20lbs and more. These species are available throughout the year, while bigger specimens are more freely caught from October to May.

Shark Fishing
Many of these angling safaris allow you to fish for shark, but this is always on a tag and release basis.

Other Species
Kabeljou (silver kob), steenbras, catfish, copper shark, spotted gully shark, galjoen, blacktail and barbell are all commonly caught along the coast.

Boat Fishing
Spend the day fishing off the Namibian coast. Anglers will be collected from their accommodation in Swakopmund or Walvis Bay from 07h45 to 08h15, and the day at sea begins from either the Swakopmund Mole or Walvis Bay harbour. Fishing takes place from around 10km to 120km offshore. Snoek and yellowtail are the only game fish species obtainable in Namibian waters.

Tackle used is the most modern type available; Shimano and Daiwa reels and graphite surf casting rods.

Shore Fishing
A day spent on the beach of the skeleton Coast. Anglers will be collected from their accommodation in Swakopmund or Walvis Bay from 07h45 to 08h15, with angling taking place at selected fishing sites along the coast.

From the beach, the following species are frequently caught: Cob, west coast steenbras, and various shark species; one of them being the famous copper shark, which can weigh up to180 kgs.

The Chobe River offers outstanding fishing in both The Chobe River and The Zambezi as well as wildlife viewing in The Chobe National Park.

The main attraction is the Tiger fish, for which this area is undoubtedly the premier Tiger fishing water in Africa.

The Tiger fish is one of the most demanding freshwater fighting fishes in Africa. You fish in the fast flowing waters of the Chobe and Zambezi, which make the fish particularly active and more ferocious than those found in the calmer waters of Lake Kariba for example.

Fishing is by drift baiting and trawling, with fly fishing during August, September and October and spinning when the water levels are low and the tigers are confined to the main river.

Bream fishing is excellent during July and August, fished by both spinning and fly.
