Central Plateau

The Central Plateau is the region found between Windhoek and Etosha. It is bordered by the Skeleton Coast, Namib Desert and the Kalahari_Desert>" id="Kalahari_Desert303">Kalahari Desert. Characteristic of this area are the thorny bush and shrubs, camelthorn trees, grassland and rolling hills and mountains.

Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, is located in the Central region, putting it almost exactly in the middle of Namibia. The International airport is situated 40km outside of Windhoek. The location of the International Airport and the capital city makes for a perfect start of a journey, as from here it is possible to venture into any direction your heart desires, be it the Etosha National Park, Sossusvlei, Fish River Canyon or Swakopmund.
