Welcome to Katima Mulilo

The heartbeat of the Caprivi lies in Katima Mulilo, the largest town in this region. Katima Mulilo is a hustle-bustle of different languages, markets, small businesses, and curio.
The Caprivians are very artistic people, and leaves from the Makalani Palm is used to make the popular baskets that is sold on the streets and at the markets.  Other than these you will also find woodcarvings and handcrafted pots at the craft and street markets. 

After driving on the long stretch of road from Rundu, which will at times remind you of a truly "African" experience, Katima Mulilo offers a welcome stop to refuel and refresh.
Situated along the banks of the great Zambezi River, Katima Mulilo lies on the border of Zambia and the area is a perfect stop-over for a visit to the Victoria Falls. Lush vegetation along the banks of the Zambezi are home to a lot of birds and other wildlife such as the hippopotamus and crocodile.
