Welcome to Ondangwa

Ondangwa is situated in the Oshana Region in Owamboland in northern Namibia. Ondangwa means "the end of the Ondonga area" - Ondonga being one of the kingdoms of Ovamboland.
The landscape surrounding the town is flat with surrounding settlements. Popular of Owamboland, Mopane and Marula trees are found in the area. After heavy rains in the region, many little lakes and ponds form. This bustling town has an open market where you can buy local food and traditional clothes and the town also has a number of shopping centres
The Nakambale museum, outside the town, was built in 1870 and displays the history of the local Owambo people as well as the missionaries.
